In Situ Dynamic Balancing

There are numerous causes of imbalance in a rotor. The most common causes are deposit build-up, blowholes in castings, eccentricity, keys/keyway additions, distortion, clearance tolerances, corrosion/wear, non-symmetrical configurations, and hydraulic or aerodynamic imbalance. Any or all of the above causes of imbalance can be present in any one rotor at any given time.

In Situ Dynamic Balancing eliminates the costly and time-consuming process of disassembly, transporting and reassembly associated with balancing at a specialised workshop. It also prevents the possibility of damage to the rotor during this process and minimises disruption to production. The only time required is the time it takes to record the readings and add the necessary counter balance weights.

In situ dynamic balancing can dramatically reduce vibration levels. This ensures that the expected machine life is achieved, energy consumption is minimised and all of the associated costs of a breakdown are avoided.
